Hawaii Governor Signs Ocean Thermal Energy Deal
The drop off from the big island is so steep that they don’t have to go far from shore to reach 1700 feet. However, the salt water is not desalinated at 1700 feet. Ocean thermal energy conversion plants could provide islanders with much-needed power, as well as desalinated water.
